My Son and I decided to do a short hike and one night stay along the Florida Trail just North of the Oasis Visitors Center at Big Cypress. The water/mud was about mid calf high, at its deepest. The boars were out all night rummaging around, but we were basically left alone. The alligators are in breeding season, so we expected to run into some active ones. However, we only ran into about 3, and they didn't care about us. The Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter hammocks were awesome, and everything else worked out well, as well.
