Everglades - On Season = No Bugs = Awesome
I finally hit Everglades National Park during the on season, when they actually charge to camp. I can see the attraction.. no friggin' bugs! Which, in itself, made the whole trip awesome, and more enjoyable than previous trips. We also ventured a little farther than usual, on foot, full gear. We hit the fire break just north of Long Pine Key and a few other spots we have never made it to, due to the summer bug and swamp conditions. We went on semi survival mode, meaning we brought little food.. we were eating sawgrass by day 3. Its not that bad when your hungry, even a little thirst quenching. I also tested loads of new gear, some good and some.. not so much. Full reviews coming soon, when the new blog launches.
