Re: NW Florida Hog Hunting Advice
Any chance of getting on some hogs anywhere near the NW area of Florida?

Re: NW Florida Hog Hunting Advice
The only hog experience I have is in Arcadia. However, I have seen a few places claiming good pigs in the NW. I will see if I can dig them up and reply back here when I gather the info. I am off to go fish right now
Re: NW Florida Hog Hunting Advice
It looks like plenty of "pay to hunt" places for boar are located in the NW.. so this means they are there, ie. you have a chance ... if you go to the FWC site and look up management areas, there are quite a few in the NW region. I would start looking for places to go, there. If you are new (ish) to boar here is a nifty FWC article on looking for the signs: http://www.floridagameandfish.com/hunting/fl_aa121003a/
I know we use to nail them at night from tree strands with 12 ga's in Arcadia on private property (we had permission from a friend of the family). It seems the way to go for hogs, anywhere, is private property.. because the rules become very lax. Though even in the management areas boar regs are pretty lax anyway. I wish I knew more specifics, but I just have not spent much time outdoors in the NW. I can say however that every other place in Florida, from the Keys to Stuart to Naples to Tampa to Gainesville, no matter where, I have seen hogs come out rootin' around day or night (most activity at night) and I imagine the NW is no different. Good Luck and hopefully someone with local advice will chime in for you.
